Prior to launching Chew and Co. Design in 2015, Susan Chew had nine years of professional interior design experience at Barbara Gisel Design in Haverford, Pennsylvania and received her master’s degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Drexel University. In addition to the Upper Valley, Susan has worked on projects in Philadelphia and its suburbs; New Vernon, NJ; Nantucket, MA; The Greenbriar in White Sulphur Springs, WV; and Chautauqua Lake, NY.

A native of Old Greenwich, Connecticut and then Haverford, Pennsylvania. Susan first came to the Upper Valley via Dartmouth College before transferring and graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. After 15 years in the Philadelphia area, Susan returned to the Upper Valley with her family in 2015 and started Chew & Co. Design.

Chew & Co. Design is truly a family business, and the whole family pitches in. You will find Susan’s husband John doing the work of both an art director and a mover, her father Bill managing the finances in the back office, and her mother Mary Ann lending her eye for merchandising and her green thumb to make the store look great. And if you visit often enough, you’re bound to catch sight of Susan’s three special daughters; Sophie, Maddie, and Appa the black Labrador Retriever.
